A Great Big Cuddle with Michael Rosen and Chris Riddell
11am, Stratford Library E15 1EL (book through Discover), £4, ages 3-6

The Big Write curator Michael Rosen joins Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell to celebrate their first picture book together, A Great Big Cuddle. Listen with delight as Michael performs poems from the book and watch in awe as Chris draws live on stage.

The Groove Baby Organ Trio
11.40am & 1.40pm, ages 0-5

Groove Baby presents grown-up concerts your baby can groove to. For The Big Write Festival, the Groove Baby Organ Trio has created a soul-jazz and boogaloo adventure inspired by some of Michael Rosen's best loved stories and poems.

Author Event: Fizzlebert Stump: The Boy Who Did P.E. in his Pants – A.F. Harrold

Roll up! Roll Up! Find out more about the brilliant Fizzlebert Stump in a lively and entertaining workshop from author and performance poet A.F. Harrold. A.F. Harrold is the owner of many books, a handful of hats, a few good ideas and one beard.

Author Event: Boris, Doris and Friends - Sam Lloyd
1.00pm, Age 3+

Join Sam Lloyd, puppeteer Amy, and their monster mates for a journey of puppetry and stories. Boris, Doris and friends will be with author and illustrator Sam Lloyd to help tell their own stories, from the monster who won’t calm down to the one who won’t speak up! You will also get a chance to make your own monster mask and become one of the gang.

Author Event: Werewolf Club Rules - Joseph Coelho
3.00pm, Age 5+

Performance Poet Joe Coelho (CBeebies’ The Rhyme Rocket) reveals the mysterious rules of the Werewolf Club, how to look like a rainbow, and how to fold up your gran!

Author Event: Mother’s Day Out - Paul Lyalls
11:30am, Age 4+

Meet acclaimed poet Paul Lyalls for a funny and moving poetry show in which the audience also get to write a brilliant poem about their mum.

Musical Workshop with Winston Nzinga
11.40am & 1.40pm, Ages 2-5
Meet Winston Nzinga for a workshop and performance that combines a blend of traditional and contemporary dance rhythms from Africa and his native Jamaica. His drumming and percussion workshops are extremely lively, motivating and captivating.

Author Event: Steampunk Pirates - Gareth P. Jones
1.00pm, Age 5+
Set sail on a fantastic adventure with the Steampunk Pirates, the robotic and chaotic heroes of award-winning author Gareth P. Jones’ hilarious book series.

‘20 Yucky Years’ of Horrible Science with Tony De Saulles

Children's TV presenter Cerrie Burnell talks about her wonderful new series following the adventures of Harper and her scarlet umbrella. Told with Cerrie's trademark beauty and wonder, prepare to be whisked away to a very magical world of stories.

Fun DMC with Charlie Dark: The Daytime Block Party for Kids and Parents

Dress up and get moving to child-friendly hip hop, funk, disco and block party anthems hosted by parent and music maestro Charlie Dark. Whether you’re the proud parent of a Lil Wayne, a Missy Elliot or a whole crew of Beastie Boys and Wee Papa Girls Rappers, this is the jam for you and yours.
