When Discover re-opens from Saturday 23 July 2016 we will be increasing our prices as follows:
Prices include admission to Discover's Story Trail and Story Garden, The Fantastic World of Dr Seuss exhibition and events. However, we recommend that you book your exhibition session and any events in advance to avoid disappointment on the day.
For ticketing Terms and Conditions please see here.
Please note Discover require a 1 adult to 5 children ratio at all times.
Discover is a charity and if you are a UK taxpayer you can help us. The entry fee for Gift Aid includes a voluntary donation of an additional 10%, which allows us to claim Gift Aid Tax Relief on the full admission price. As a UK taxpayer should you pay less income tax or capital gains tax in the year on the donation, you will be responsible to pay any difference.
To enable us to put on our programme of activities, mount our exhibitions, maintain the building and cover all the overheads that are associated with running a venue, we have increased our prices by £1.50 for adults and children aged 2 and above. Our concession price – available for all Newham residents - has risen by 50p.
Please note that this is the first increase to our prices since 2013. We are always reluctant to increase admission but it now costs more to run Discover than it did three years ago. Especially as we are now creating an additional floor with more creative play, more space for pre-schoolers to enjoy during the week, opening seven days a week with an hour longer at weekends and a separate café from the reception area. The actual cost of a visit to Discover is £14 per person and as a registered charity we need to raise over £400,000 per year to support the costs of running the venue and our literacy programmes.
This price increase will be in effect from Saturday 23 July 2016 (including pre-bookings).
