Welcome to Discover’s Community and Education Programme
Discover delivers an extensive Community and Education programme targeting some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged families in Newham and East London. Our programmes are driven by the belief that creativity and play are essential to children’s development and well being. Projects are designed to enable children and their carers to explore and express their views, emotions and aspirations.
Discover’s Community and Education team works with innovative artists and associates to deliver programmes in both the formal and informal education sectors. Activities take place in schools, early years settings and in partnership with community groups and voluntary and statutory agencies. We are currently working with teenage parents, refugee and asylum seekers, parent and toddler groups, childminders, early years practitioners, families with disabled children and local schools.
Discover’s Community & Education Programme contributes to delivering many of the Every Child Matters Five Outcomes, in particular ‘Enjoying and Achieving’ and ‘Making a Positive Contribution’.
Our Community & Education Programme is generously supported by public funding bodies, trusts, foundations and corporate supporters.
