Discover's programme for schools takes place in the unique environment of our Story Trail, Story Den and Story Garden. This is a multi-sensory environment which encourages role-play, story-building, self expression, language and literacy development.
All sessions are led by dynamic and skilled Story Builders who are trained to support key skills and goals including:

Every visit to Discover is a story building mission. Through drama, storytelling and exploration of Discover's unique environment, KS1 children learn the key elements of story craft - character, setting and plot.
The sessions are especially designed to develop core language, literacy and creative skills including:
Developing ideas to support creative writing.
Discover has developed a brand new exhibition - City of Stories. Come and experience traditional stories from around the world presented in an imaginative and exciting environment.
City of Stories will encourage children to examine why people tell stories, types of stories such as myths, legends and folktales and help children to understand the similarities that the world's stories to share. By exploring the interactive and multi-sensory story world, children will see themselves as part of one encompassing community.
The session takes into account key parts of the curriculum including:
EN1, EN3, PNS Framework - Literacy, Geography and PSHE.
