Discover’s Education Programme reflects our ambition to ensure that children and their carers are able to develop their creativity and imagination through innovative learning opportunities, and that children are consulted and engaged in decisions about their lives. We deliver artist’s residencies, training programmes, special projects and long term partnerships with particular schools or clusters.
Project Focus
Listening to Learn is a major new programme focusing on the changes that are happening in Stratford, East London. Over the next three years we will be working with children, architects, designers and planners to explore how children can engage with the regeneration process. Children at Carpenter’s School, on the edge of the Olympic site, will be working with artists using drama, film, visual arts and photography to express their ideas and opinions to agencies making decisions about their local area. The final stage of the programme will produce a toolkit to enable other regeneration areas to involve young children in urban design and decision making.
